Ballasted EPDM
An EPDM Ballasted System offers an economical roof system that can be applied to many
different types of buildings assuming the building structure and decking have been
designed to hold the additional weight of the ballast. It is most commonly used on
large open roofs without many penetrations, such as a warehouse.
Sheets of insulation are loosely laid on the decking. EPDM sheets are then loosely laid to cover the insulation. Adjoining sheets are overlapped and spliced with seam tape. The perimeter of the roof and all penetrations are then flashed according to the technical specifications. After completion, the entire roof is weighed down using river washed ballast.

System Benefits
- Economical
- Fewer seams due to larger EPDM sheets
- Fast installation
- Excellent fire rating
- Superior weathering resistance
Mechanically Fastened EPDM
An EPDM Mechanically Attached System offers a lightweight roof system that can be applied on
many different types of building where the roof decking provides enough pull-out resistance for the fasteners.
Sheets of insulation are laid out on the roof system and then either adhered or mechanically fastened with insulation plates and fasteners to the roof decking. EPDM sheets are then laid out to cover the insulation. Adjoining sheets are then overlapped, spliced with seam tape, and then mechanically fastened with seam plates and fasteners. The perimeter of the roof and all penetrations are then flashed according to the technical specifications.

Fully Adhered EPDM
EPDM Adhered Systems offers a durable roof system that can be applied on many different
types of buildings, where the building roof decking provides enough pull-out test resistance.
Sheets of insulation are then laid out on the roof system and then either adhered or mechanically fastened with insulation plates and fasteners to the roof decking. EPDM sheets are then laid out over top of the insulation and bonding adhesive is applied on the EPDM membrane and the insulation. Adjoining sheets are overlapped and spliced with seam tape. The perimeter of the roof and all penetrations are then flashed according to the technical specifications.
